New Workshop Series

A new Professional Workshop Series is being presented by Local 99, The American Federation of Musicians.
 
This series is intended to help all music professionals gain additional knowledge and insight into their livelihoods. All workshops are FREE  to Local 99 members (a dollar or two donation for the building fund would be very appropriate) and $20 for non-members.  A ten dollar discount is offered for members of other associations: CBA, JSO, PSA, etc…
 
 The first workshop is Monday, Nov 23rd from 7-9pm and Noah Peterson is the presenter.
 
Bandleading 101: Business Models and Professional Practices for Freelancers 
Getting it together, keeping it together, management styles, handling personnel, clients, money, marketing and more!
 
This lecture will demonstrate three current business models for bands/artists and explore opportunities and challenges with running your own business. Topics covered will include booking gigs, branding, resource assessment and exploiting your niche.
 
Noah Peterson has 15 years experience in the NW performing, touring, recording, composing, as a band leader, video producer, record producer, on-air radio host, booking agent, arts advocate, musicians advocate and Union board member.  He has airplay across the U.S, in Europe, Australia and Africa.  His musical experiences include: jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, folk, singer/songwriter, zydeco, R&B, classical, rock, funk, punk, avant-garde, West-African traditional, High-life, world-beat, country, pop, spoken word and soul.
