Local 99 History & Jurisdiction

The American Federation of Musicians was accepted into the AFL-CIO in 1896, making this organization over 100 years old. In 1899, Local 99 was given its charter, serving the area covering (generally) southwestern Washington down to Albany, Oregon and from the coastline over to eastern Oregon. Today, Local 99’s jurisdiction spans the counties highlighted in green below—Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Gilliam, Hood River, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Sherman, Tillamook, Wasco, Washington, Wheeler, Yamhill, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Grant, and Baker in the state of Oregon; the counties of Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum in the state of Washington.)
